Digital strategy and website stewardship for independent optometry practices
Websites built for how patients find practices now.
Gulfstream Strategic Advisory helps independent optometry practices build clearer, faster and more technically rigorous websites—designed for patients, traditional search, ChatGPT and emerging AI-powered discovery.
Built by an optometrist, with the discipline of a modern software product team.
Practice
One practice. Many discovery paths. One digital source of truth.
The market has changed
Patients do not find eye doctors in just one place anymore.
A patient may discover a practice through search, Maps, an insurance directory, ChatGPT, another AI assistant, a referral or social media. Wherever that journey begins, the website remains a critical source of truth.
Human discovery
People still ask people.
Referrals, insurance directories and word of mouth remain important parts of patient discovery.
Traditional search
Search still interprets the site.
Google Search, Maps and local results depend on clear, trustworthy information about the practice.
AI-assisted discovery
Answer engines need clarity too.
AI systems increasingly synthesize information when helping people compare options and answer healthcare questions.
A modern practice website should be understandable to both people and machines.
Why Gulfstream
Most web agencies understand websites. We understand optometry practices.
An optometry website has to explain clinical services, contact lenses, vision plans, medical insurance, eyewear, technology, doctor credentials, patient workflows and practice policies without confusing patients or making claims the practice cannot support.
Gulfstream combines optometric subject-matter expertise with the requirements gathering, documentation, testing, version control and iterative development practices of a modern software product team.
The result is less translation between the practice and the people building its digital presence.
What we optimize for
Clarity, quality and long-term usefulness.
01
Patient clarity
Visitors should quickly understand the practice and know what to do next.
02
Technical quality
Fast loading, responsive design, accessibility, semantic HTML and maintainable architecture.
03
Search visibility
Strong technical SEO, useful content architecture and clear local relevance.
04
Machine understanding
Structured data and factual content help search engines and AI systems interpret the practice.
05
Long-term maintainability
The site should adapt as doctors, insurance, technology and services change.
We do not promise rankings, citations or AI recommendations. We build the strongest digital foundation we reasonably can.
How it works
Your website should begin with your practice—not a template.
01 — Understand
Learn the real practice.
Doctors, services, patients, technology, insurance, workflows, policies and goals.
02 — Architect
Decide what deserves clarity.
We organize the information patients and search systems need to understand.
03 — Build & Validate
Develop, review and test.
Performance, accessibility, mobile behavior, SEO and critical patient pathways are checked systematically.
04 — Steward
Keep improving after launch.
The digital property evolves as the practice and discovery landscape change.
Services
More than a website build.
Website Strategy & Rebuilds

Learn about stewardship →Our AI philosophy
AI is one of the tools we use. It is not the product we sell.
Modern AI tools can improve research, analysis, quality assurance, content workflows and development efficiency. The value still comes from asking the right questions, verifying the details and applying professional judgment.
Technology accelerates the work. Expertise directs it.
Engineering quality
Built like a digital product, not a disposable brochure.
Technical choices should support speed, reliability, accessibility, maintainability and the ability to evolve.
- Performance and responsive design
- Accessibility and semantic HTML
- Structured data and technical SEO
- Version control and controlled deployment
- Maintainable architecture
Founder perspective
Created from the perspective of a practice owner.
Gulfstream Strategic Advisory was founded by Justin Bazan, OD, an optometrist and longtime independent-practice owner.
After years of working with healthcare marketing vendors—and later becoming deeply involved in rebuilding his own practice's digital infrastructure—he saw a recurring gap between web-development knowledge and practice knowledge.
Gulfstream exists to bridge that gap.
About Gulfstream →Your practice already has a story. Your website should make it easy to understand.
If your current website no longer reflects the practice you have built—or you are unsure how clearly patients, search engines and AI systems understand it—we should talk.
